Small neighborhood between Tolman Creek Road and Mistletoe Road.

Hamilton Creek flows by this neighborhood.

See a “Monarch Waystation” garden.

Published October 2023.

You will find this neighborhood of six short streets on the east side of Tolman Creek Road, just south of the railroad tracks and the Ashland Zen Center. It was built primarily between 1997 and 2005. This photo essay features Eagle Creek Lane, and I’ll start the photos where it meets Tolman Creek Road, right next to Bellview School. My next photo essay will feature the other five short streets in the neighborhood.

Gardens and Flowers

Going around the first corner, I found a multi-colored strip of beauty between the sidewalk and fence.

Around another bend in the street, an unassuming area of driveways and garages in front of two houses dominated the scene. I almost walked by without stopping to look any closer. Fortunately, I did stop — and found hidden gems under the shade trees.

Manzanita grows well in our climate. Occasionally, I see a spectacular manzanita bush. Here is one.
