27 Nov Poem: Ashland front yard art
“You see art everywhere!”
commented my WalkAshland website reader.
I try, I thought to myself.
Actually I do, I thought to myself.
As I walk the streets of Ashland
I try to LOOK
with open eyes, open mind, open heart.
Often my Busy-ness smudges my glasses.
Thoughts of yesterday, of tomorrow,
of “what if?” cloud my vision.
When I let go of this Busy-ness,
I begin to SEE.
Open eyes – I see St. Francis peeking
through front yard plants, and
fairy villages alive with imagination.
Open mind – I see rocks and pebbles arranged
just so, in artistic stillness or even in flow.
Open heart – I see stars and suns
and stained glass inspiration,
all sparkling with simple wonder.

Posted at 12:32h, 28 NovemberI love this approach to the world. I’m always amazed by the creative worlds others share in their gardens. Whole new worlds emerge. Thank you I’m brand new to Ashland but look forward to finding the treasures hidden all over town
