21 Oct Poem: Today can feel small or BIG
A bit of inspiration.
In praise of creativity.
How today can feel BIG.
Today is small
when I am absorbed in
my worries and concerns,
constricted, stuck, building walls
to protect myself.
Today is BIG
when I reach beyond walls,
when I rejoice in the Flow of life
in and around me.
On a small scale:
Flow of breath, receiving the gift of oxygen
from plant world symbiotes,
giving them CO2 in return;
Flow of blood within, each moment;
also nerves, lymph, thoughts,
emotions – all always in flow.
On a big-picture scale:
the earth I stand on
spins and flows around our sun-star;
which spins around a massive galaxy-center;
a galaxy that seems to be zooming
from nowhere to nowhere;
passing through a nothingness
that seems to be filled
with a mysterious somethingness.
Is this why today is BIG?
Not really.
A secret doorway is hidden
in each here-now moment.
One of the doorway keys
is the endless creativity
within the Flow of life.
Whether Beethoven, Beatles or Beyoncé;
or a golden sunset, flowing river, majestic mountain;
through words, music, cooking, culture,
art or science;
teaching a child or tending a garden;
You can enter the Flow
that opens to a spaciousness
beyond worries and walls.
Follow your creative Flow
where it leads you,
for today to be BIG.
